The dream of El Patio started far back in 1969 when Francisco and Lidia Amador immigrated to the United States from Zacatecas, Mexico. Francisco worked in the restaurant industry and Lidia worked at Saint Jose's Hospital as a laundry lady as they first settled in North Hollywood, CA.

 

In 1988, they bought the first location on Township Avenue. Francisco was the cook, Lidia was the hostess and their son Eddie was the busboy. Still living in North Hollywood, they would commute every day to make sure their dream came true. With the help of their family and loyal staff, the restaurant began to grow. Two years later, the second location, on the corner of Los Angeles Ave and Tapo Street, was added to the corporation. The goal was simple: provide quality service and fresh, authentic Mexican food.

 

For the past 37 years, the goal remains the same. The Amador family still fully owns and operates both locations, grateful for the customers and businesses that help support us.
